JOB ANNOUNCEMENT SHIFT SUPERVISOR OF AVIATION SECURITY, BX17 CHICAGO DEPARTMENT OF AVIATION Security Division Number of Positions: 3 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $83,052.00 Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT on July 9, 2026. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS Under direction, functions as the security officer in charge of an airport security or surveillance unit during an assigned tour of duty; and performs related duties as required ESSENTIAL DUTIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training, and Experience
NOTE: The candidate selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA). NOTE: This position is subject to working off-hour shifts as required 24/7/365. NOTE: This position requires a VALID LICENSE at the time of hire. Special Requirements * New employees must pass all pre-employment procedures including a drug screen, city and federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background checks. * New employees must pass a Ground Motor Vehicle Operating Regulation Basic Driving test administered by the Chicago Department of Aviation within six months of hire. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time and to climb stairs and access multi-level facilities to patrol airfield areas, terminals and facilities. * Ability to lift and/ or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. * Ability to use security equipment and to wear gear and associated equipment weighing up to 25 pounds for extended periods of time SELECTION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires applicants to complete an interview.
