The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures

The Marketing Coordinator will play a role in managing the Museum's day-to-day marketing operations, with a specific focus on social media, media relations, and event promotion. This position will support the Museum's mission by increasing its visibility, enhancing audience engagement, and promoting the Museum's programs, exhibitions, and fundraising initiatives. The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for executing social media campaigns, handling press inquiries and ensuring consistency across all marketing channels.

Job Description

Social Media and Digital Marketing

  • Manage and execute daily social media content, including creating posts, scheduling, and responding to audience engagement across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase social media engagement, grow followers, and drive traffic to the website.
  • Monitor analytics for social media platforms, track campaign performance, and generate reports on metrics to measure success.
  • Press and Media Relations
  • Serve as the point of contact for media inquiries and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national press.
  • Draft press releases, manage media outreach, and coordinate interviews and media appearances for Museum leadership.
  • Track press coverage and compile regular media reports to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach efforts.

Event Promotion and Marketing Campaigns

  • Collaborate with the Museum's Learning and Engagement team to plan and promote events, programs, and exhibitions.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of promotional campaigns, including email newsletters, print materials, and digital ads.
  • Work closely with the Development department to create marketing campaigns for fundraising initiatives and member engagement.

Content Creation and Brand Management

  • Support the creation and management of content for the Museum's website, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and maintain brand integrity across all digital and print materials.
  • Collaborate with design and content teams to produce promotional materials, event flyers, and signage.

Administrative Support

  • Assist in maintaining the Museum's marketing calendar, tracking deadlines, and ensuring timely content execution.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for marketing materials and media buys.
  • Other duties as assigned
Shift

This position requires occasional evening and weekend availability.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in social media management, public relations, and digital marketing.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, website management, email marketing tools (e.g., MailChimp, Constant Contact), and graphic design tools (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, etc.).
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Experience filming and editing short-form and long-form video content.
  • Experience managing content in Wordpress and other website management platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $19.25 -$26.00/hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
