WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Accounting team through the execution of day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with the month-end and year-end close processes. This role ensures compliance with company policies and GAAP while contributing to the accuracy, timeliness, and overall efficiency of financial reporting and accounting operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including ledger-to-subledger reconciliations and project accounting.
  • Prepare and review bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving variances.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards (GAAP).
  • Analyze financial results and assist in identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support tax-related activities including gathering and reconciling sales and use tax data, as applicable.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Accounts Payable, Procurement, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.


Experience:


  • 2-3 years of accounting or related experience preferred.


KNOWLEDGE, TECHINCAL SKILL, & ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality
