Essential Functions
-Executes protocols of non-routine experiments.
-Assists PI with determining the most suitable methodology.
-Performs basic design and modification of protocols.
-Calculates, transcribes, and analyzes data.
-Prepares and presents reports.
-Organizes and summarizes acquired data using scientific and Statistical Techniques.
-Participates in the design of experiments or field work.

Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Analytical skills and ability to resolve technical problems.
- Ability to interpret acceptability of data results.
- Strong Computer skills.
- Demonstrated competence in research techniques and methodologies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Completes data management tasks requiring experience with computers and database management software
  • Orients, trains and oversees new/ junior research assistant
  • Generate graphs and data plots for meetings, grants and publications
  • Contribute to the development and assembly of investigator abstracts, posters and slide presentations
  • Analytical skills and ability to resolve basic tech issues
  • Ability to interpret data and results
  • Demonstrate competence in research techniques and methodologies
  • Works independently under close supervision
  • Completes basic regulatory and administrative tasks including COMS, IACUC and other IRB submissions
  • Maintains equip, supply inventory and materials
  • Order supplies and materials
  • Maintain animal inventories
  • Conduct experiments under supervision
  • Strong quantitative and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors' degree, or equivalent combination or education and experience.
  • 1+ year of related experience post-degree required.
  • Strongly prefer candidates withintermediate math skills and ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry; solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of employees
