JOB OVERVIEW: The Technician I position requires a Senior Mechanicaland a Welding Certification. As a Technician I, you will support ourmanufacturing operations and facilities infrastructure by providing a fullrange of mechanical repair tasks with a focus on project completion in atimely manner and attention to detail. Project duties will vary; please readthe requirements and job tasks below to understand the range of experienceneeded GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: * High school graduate or equivalent * Strong Mechanical background & good work record * Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, CMMS, Excel, etc.) * Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and OEM manuals * Must be able to interpret mechanical drawings and fabricate per drawing specs. * Understand manufacturing processes and manufacturing equipment * Must be familiar with normal shop equipment such as drill press, band saw, portable power tools, welder(s), etc. * Ability to read and interpret precision measuring devices * Ability to weld pipe in 6G position * Must be capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously * Must have (or pass) Southwire's hands-on Mechanical Certification * Must have a 6G Pipe Welding Certification * Willingness to travel to Southwire locations enterprise-wide PRIMARY JOB TASKS: * Works in a safe manner and ensures the safety of all employees * Perform all work in accordance with Southwire policies and procedures * Reading mechanical schematics, drawings and equipment manuals * Repair and/or installation of PVC, Copper, Composite, Carbon Steel, and Stainless Steel piping * Industrial air compressor systems, process water systems, pump systems * Develop material list and order materials required * Good communication skills with Leadership, peers, and external suppliers * Provide direction to contractors & small crews if applicable * Fabricate, install, repair, or replace, building mechanical components * Perform assigned work efficiently and track time spent in SAP workorder system * Work well in a team environment SAFETY: Report all accidents, incidents, injuries and unsafe acts or conditions, immediately to the supervisor PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Ability to meet the physical requirements of working safely in an industrial maintenance environment Benefits We Offer:
