Evaluate, design, code, test, optimize and modify Medica's financial or operations systems solutions and reporting capabilities that support multiple lines of Businesses and IT initiatives. Capture, develop, and document data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements. Conduct data analysis in support of a variety of analytic solutions. Interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities



  • Partner with internal business customers to establish and develop relationships, establishing credibility as a key internal resource.
  • Use analytic techniques and develop queries using Python and SQL, utilizing multiple data sources and environments to produce reports to meet needs of business users.
  • Develop analytical specifications for health insurance and managed care projects through participation in project teams or meetings with internal customers.
  • Research subjects surrounding claims, providers, pricing, benefits, government programs or membership, conduct analysis, interpret data, identify threats, and present information to customers.
  • Develop business performance reports for operational business units and produce executive analytic summaries to aid in decision-making.
  • Participate in team activities to identify problems and improve work processes and systems.


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • 3 years of work experience beyond degree
  • Proficient user of Python and SQL


Preferred Qualifications



  • Relationship oriented communicator who is highly articulate in verbal and written form.
  • Experience with DBT, and Snowflake strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare insurance industry experience or interest.
  • Demonstrated examples of taking initiative and being curious with data.


This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We are open to candidates located near one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN or Madison, WI.

The full salary grade for this position is $70,200 - $120,400. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $70,200 - $105,315. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
