Direct and coordinate maintenance personnel and vendors to safely accomplish repairs and upgrades on a fleet of tugs and barges. This includes management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials, proper utilization of resources and strategic planning that lends itself to absolute minimum downtime of company equipment. Associated skills required are the ability to perform accurate diagnostic evaluations and service/repair tasks. A high level of cost sensitivity and professionalism is required, as the position will occasionally require serving as the owners' representative. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working Conditions: Work is performed in environments wherein oily decks, high room temperatures, and high noise levels will be present. Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement. Minimum Qualifications: High School Education or equivalent education required. A minimum of six years in all phases of marine maintenance is required. Physical /Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be involved with frequent use of lifting tools such as chain hoists, slings, and general rigging. Must be able to ascend/descend stairs and ladders, must have good agility and the ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to enter, exit and work in tight spaces.
