Job Title Senior WriterJob Description I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives. EW Senior Writers are responsible for producing breaking news content and other features. A successful Senior Writer will be a team player who has excellent writing and communication skills as well as a deep love and knowledge of entertainment and pop culture. In addition to covering daily news, this person would work closely with the TV/Movies Editor and Editorial Director to help plan, brainstorm, and execute coverage across network TV, streaming, and film.Successful candidates will be able to produce well-reported and engaging content under tight deadlines. They will collaborate with editors on beat assignments, crafting coverage plans, negotiating exclusives, and cultivating relationships with publicists and other pertinent external collaborators and sources. The Senior Writer must also be willing to work occasional off-hours and weekends as necessary. II. Essential Job Functions Approximate Weight % | Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results 80% - Write breaking entertainment news stories and other features 20% - Cover events, conduct interviews and make rollout plans as needed, and other duties as assigned III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
