Mechanic

SHIFT: Sunday -Thursday 9:00pm - 5:30am (some mandatory overtime)

THE ROLE

Responsible for mechanical maintenance services; maintains, inspects and repairs equipment and vehicles to ensure safety and on-going operation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems using schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic tools such as ammeters and ohmmeters.
• Conduct repairs on electrical systems, motors, conveyors, crushers, balers, and other processing equipment.
• Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document maintenance activities and track equipment history.
• Operate specialized tools including welding equipment (welding), precision measuring instruments, scissors lifts, and low voltage testing devices.
• Diagnose complex issues involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical systems, hydraulics, and HVAC/R components.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed during all maintenance activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

• Proven experience working in manufacturing facilities or industrial maintenance environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and mechanical repair techniques.
• Hands-on experience with industrial electrician tasks including electrical blueprint reading and schematic interpretation.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration), and pneumatic systems troubleshooting.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ammeters and ohmmeters for low voltage electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience with equipment repair involving welding ( welding preferred), hydraulic systems, and precision measuring instruments.
• Excellent analysis skills combined with customer service orientation to support internal teams and external vendors effectively.
• Knowledge of alternating and direct current electrical controls and motor systems.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices; understanding of potential job hazards.
• Basic computer programs.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Graduation from a formalized mechanical trade school highly desirable.
