Overview

TRC has an immediate opening for an Archaeologist/Lab Director in our Nashville, TN office. The Archaeologist/Lab Director will work closely with TRC archaeologists and environmental specialists, and conduct historic and prehistoric artifact analysis, prepare artifact inventories, and contribute to archaeological reports and regulatory documents.

The Archaeologist/Lab Director position is a full-time position that will involve working with other environmental staff, permitting specialists, and managers in TRC's PPL practice. The position will involve proposal development, client coordination, regulatory consultation, preparation of work plans and cultural resources regulatory documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and supervise processing and analysis of artifact collections from field studies.
  • Prepare artifact inventories, lab methods and results sections for archaeological reports.
  • Conduct historic/archival/map research for background sections of reports.
  • Prepare and coordinate artifact collections and documentation transfer to curation facilities.
  • Prepare documentation in support of project regulatory permitting.
  • Work closely with archaeologists, environmental specialists, and TRC permitting managers.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MA or MS) in anthropology, archaeology, or a related discipline. Experienced non-MA/MS archaeologists with qualifying experience will also be considered.
  • Five or more years of experience in archaeological research, including Eastern US historic and prehistoric artifact identification and analysis.
  • Ability to think critically and work in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with data processing technologies; knowledge and experience with GIS software applications a plus.
  • A commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and motor vehicle records check.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation:Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
