What to Expect
We are seeking a Vision Integration Engineer to join our Factory Software machine learning and computer vision team. In this role, you will be the hands-on bridge between our vision platform and the factory floor, deploying and integrating industrial camera systems, collecting high-quality datasets, and building models to solve real-world inspection challenges at scale.
You will bring both depth in classical machine vision (optics, calibration, algorithm development) and fluency with modern ML-based inspection workflows. You will work closely with ML engineers, process engineers, and production teams to bring vision-based solutions from concept to full production.
What You'll Do
- Install, configure, commission, and maintain industrial vision systems including cameras, lighting, optics, and mounting hardware across factory environments
- Perform camera calibration (intrinsic/extrinsic parameters, lens distortion, multi-camera geometry) to ensure system accuracy and repeatability
- Develop and optimize vision algorithms for defect detection, inspection, and anomaly detection using Python, C++, C#, or HALCON
- Perform on-site data collection campaigns, ensuring proper image capture, labeling, and dataset curation for model training and validation
- Build, train, and iterate on computer vision models using the factory vision platform
- Drive vision system reliability and uptime, tracking key metrics including cycle time, and quality yields
- Troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues across cameras, networking, compute modules, and platform connectivity
- Collaborate with ML engineers to define data requirements and validate model performance in production
- Work with process and production teams to identify new inspection use cases and translate operational needs into deployments
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with industrial vision systems in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of optics, lighting, and hardware selection, cameras, lenses, illumination, and image acquisition components
- Understanding of camera calibration: lens distortion, intrinsic/extrinsic parameters, multi-camera geometry
- Experience with image processing fundamentals (enhancement, thresholding, feature extraction) and computer vision concepts (object detection, segmentation, anomaly detection)
- Experience in developing vision software and algorithms and performing data analysis using languages and tools such as C#, Python, or HALCON
- Experience with model training workflows, dataset preparation, annotation, training, and evaluation
- Experience with linescan camera systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills and effective cross-functional communication in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
