Overview
We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented accounting professional to support a major retail organization's business license compliance and monthly accounting close operations. You'll own renewals, government notices, audit support, and GL processes while working cross-functionally with internal teams and external compliance partners.
What You'll Do
- Review and prepare business license renewals across jurisdictions
- Resolve government notices and inquiries promptly
- Conduct business license research and support audit activities
- Participate in monthly accounting close activities
- Prepare and reconcile journal entries and GL data
- Analyze GL data and create monthly reconciled data files for compliance providers
- Coordinate with co-sourced compliance partners and external stakeholders
- Communicate with internal departments on compliance and accounting needs
- Manage administrative tasks including weekly mail processing and retrieval
What We Need
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience
- At least 2 years of business license and gross receipts tax compliance experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation)
- Solid understanding of GL accounting concepts and reconciliation processes
- CPA or accounting-specific certification preferred
- Associate's degree in Accounting minimum (Bachelor's preferred)
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and hit strict deadlines
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP
- CSC Navigator platform experience
- Tools like Alteryx, Analysis for Office, or Tableau
