Auria is looking to hire a Specialized Systems Engineer to support the MOSSAIC contract. This role is ONSITE in Schriever SFB - 720 Irwin Ave. in Colorado Springs.
Maintenance of Space Situational Awareness Integrated Capabilities (MOSSAIC) comprises of ground-based Space Domain Awareness (SDA) sensors, SDA Command and Control (C2) systems, and Space Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) capabilities in the Space System Command (SSC) Ground-based Space Surveillance program Portfolio. Auria supports the National Space Defense Center (NSDC) in Knowledge Management, Training, and Mod/SIM. Our team travels to multiple sites around the world working with Allies through Exercises and Simulations.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
The Systems Engineer will support efforts required for integration of legacy space C2 systems into the National Space Defense Center (NSDC) and facilitate the introduction and operational acceptance of new capabilities being developed by Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Battle Management and Command and Control (BMC2), and commercial developers/providers.
- Perform requirements elicitation, definition, and functional allocation to hardware and software segments and components
- Perform trend analysis and product performance analysis of the mission systems, including hardware and software components
- Determine gaps in capability and provide NSDC director with analysis of the impacts and methods to mitigate them
- Document the requirements for future mission systems based on operational needs as identified by NSDC director
- Support of NSDC experiments, exercises, and operations
- Use modeling and simulation analyses to support design validation and mission benefit analyses
- Prepare and brief technical presentations at informal and formal meetings
- Write technical white papers, memorandums, and reports
- Perform research, studies, and analyses in support of crew force progression requirements and manpower assessments
- Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts to enhance mission operations
- Support development of technological concepts which improve system performance and mission capabilities
- Support critical operations during standard and non-standard working hours
- Conduct system requirements reviews, and create and/or update requirement specifications and technical documentation. Review system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete
- Develop trade studies to guide selection of components to ensure requirement satisfaction
- Develop and assess course of action alternatives in project development/delivery
- Develop and conduct test plans/procedures for software/hardware integration tests, and be responsible for integration/execution, detailed data analysis, and preparation of software test reports
- Participate in engineering peer reviews as a document originator or reviewer to ensure engineering rigor for project current lifecycle phase
- Support project management team by performing technical planning, risk and supportability, and analysis for total systems following a defined system design lifecycle process (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal)
- Perform risk analysis, including identifying and assessing project risks
- Travel when necessary to meet with customer
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ associate's degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Requires proficient knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
- May have practical knowledge of project management.

PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $110,000 - $128,000
