The
IT Support Specialist I will provide the first level of IT support to employees by troubleshooting hardware and software issues in person and remotely. Accountable for the first level of contact with the customer, ensuring they are helped quickly and efficiently while providing technical assistance, software support, hardware repairs, and excellent customer service.
Job duties:
- Provide technical support for Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications (including Outlook, Word, and Excel), Zoom, and other internal software platforms.
- Answer calls on the IT Support line and deliver prompt, professional, and customer-focused assistance to end users experiencing technical issues.
- Support walk-in customers as needed, creating and managing support tickets while appropriately prioritizing requests.
- Manage user access by adding users to distribution lists, security groups, and other required permissions using Active Directory and Exchange.
- Perform title and manager updates across applicable systems to ensure employee records remain accurate.
- Troubleshoot and resolve audio/visual (AV) issues in conference rooms and meeting spaces.
- Monitor and resolve tickets within the IT ticketing system, maintaining accurate status updates and ensuring company SLA requirements are met.
- Order approved peripherals, including headsets, mice, and travel accessories, and assist users with setup and configuration.
- Maintain the IT Asset Management System by accurately adding new assets and updating assignment and inventory details as needed.
- Utilize the internal IT knowledge base and other technical resources to research issues and identify effective solutions.
- Collaborate with external vendors to renew, add, or terminate software licenses for new and retired PCs.
- Retire hardware at end of life while ensuring compliance with company disposal and security procedures.
- Escalate recurring or complex issues to senior team members and management to support long-term resolution efforts.
- Follow established IT security processes and procedures, maintaining a cybersecurity-focused approach in all activities.
- Participate in occasional site visits to remote locations to support employee meetings, manage AV requirements, and resolve on-site technology issues.
- Order and configure company-issued mobile devices, including iOS and Android phones, hotspots, and tablets. Assist users with data migration, application installation, and ongoing troubleshooting.
- Provision new computers using approved imaging tools and install required applications based on end-user needs.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot printers and copiers, assisting users with printing, scanning, and faxing functionality.
- Migrate user data between devices and ensure end users have the tools and resources needed for a successful transition.
- Reset passwords and unlock user accounts across commonly used business systems.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, applications, and hardware utilized throughout the organization.
- Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for urgent employee needs and be available to work occasional overtime as business needs require.
- Travel as needed for training initiatives and to provide support at other company locations.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Customer service experience
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems including Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Experience with Office 365, Zoom Meetings and Phone, and Active Directory.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and utilize resources available to find the best solution.
- Ability to repair computer hardware and diagnose hardware issues.
- Familiarity with iOS and Android mobile phones.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for great customer service.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to drive and valid license required.
