THE ROLE

AMD is looking for a business-minded commercial attorney to leadthe legal team supporting the Global Procurement and Global Operations organizations.In this role, you and your team willbe responsible for agreementsusedtosecurethe components,materials,manufacturingservices,capacity commitments,and resourcesthatsupport AMD's end-to-end portfolio of semiconductor productsand platforms. You will partner closelywith Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations,Finance, Technologyand Business Unit teams to turn complex businessarrangementsinto clear,practical, and executablecontracts.This is a high-visibility role requiring strong judgment, commercial pragmatism, and the ability to balance risk with the speed of the business.

THE PERSON

You area confident, practicaldeal lawyer with significantbuy-sideexperiencenegotiatingagreements forphysical goods,software,components, manufacturing, capacity, and infrastructure, withstrengthin direct procurement and strategic supply arrangements.You bring strong business judgment,executive presence,and the ability tostay organized andeffectiveunder pressure.Youbring extensive experience in managinga team of high-performing attorneys and paralegalsand scaling teams and processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scale, lead and develop a high-performing legal procurement team overseeing the attorneys and paralegals who structure, draft and negotiate commercial procurement transactions including:

  • Direct procurementtransactions, including components, materials, assemblies, contract manufacturing, manufacturing services, and product purchase agreements.

  • Strategiccapacityreservation and supply assurancetransactions, includingmulti-year commitments, capacity reservations,prepayment arrangements,andsingle-source/sole-sourcesupply structures.

  • Major indirect procurement,technology, licensing, and other commercial agreements.

  • Advise senior leaders on deal strategy, risk, and execution, and independently lead high-impact matters.
  • Continuously improve procurement of contracting processes and procedures to scale with the growth of the company.
  • Develop templates, playbooks, and practical contracting approaches that help the legal team support the business with speed, consistency, and sound risk management.
  • Leverage AI resources to increase efficiency and productivity.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Significant experiencemanaging a high-performing team of legal professionals

  • Experience improving processes in a fast paced and growing environment

  • Significant commerciallegal experience leading complex, high-valuetransactionsindependently.

  • Hands-on direct buy-side procurementexperience, includingdirectnegotiatingthe purchase of components, materials,assemblies,manufacturingservices, orother goods and servicesthatsupporta product, notonlyIT, software, orgeneralservices.

  • Strategiccapacity reservation andsupplyassuranceexperience, includingmulti-year commitments, capacity reservations,prepayment arrangements,andsingle-source/sole-sourcesupply structures.

  • Experiencein semiconductors, hardware, cloud, data center,contract manufacturing,ODM, orfoundryenvironmentsis a plus, along with strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

  • J.D. or LL.B. from an accredited law school.

  • Activemembership in good standing with a state bar.
