Job Description

The University of Missouri Athletics Department is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Ticket Sales to lead the department's ticket sales strategy and revenue generation efforts. Reporting directly to the Associate AD for Marketing & Sales, this position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales initiatives that maximize ticket revenue across all ticketed sports through season tickets, premium seating, group sales, and special event opportunities.

The Director of Ticket Sales provides leadership and oversight for the Ticket Sales & Service team, develops sales strategies, establishes performance goals, and fosters a high-performing, customer-focused culture. This position serves as the primary liaison between Ticket Sales and Marketing while collaborating with Ticket Operations, Development, External Relations, and other departments to drive attendance, enhance the fan experience, and achieve departmental revenue objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ticket Sales Leadership and Revenue Generation (30%)

* Develop and execute strategic ticket sales plans to maximize revenue through season tickets, mini-plans, group sales, premium seating, and special ticket offers.
* Lead outbound sales initiatives while managing key accounts and high-value customer relationships.
* Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to increase attendance and ticket revenue across assigned sports.
* Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies to meet departmental revenue goals.

2. Sales Team Leadership and Staff Development (25%)

* Provide daily leadership, supervision, and mentorship for the Ticket Sales staff.
* Establish individual and team sales goals, monitor performance metrics, and conduct regular coaching sessions.
* Recruit, hire, onboard, and train full-time staff, graduate assistants, interns, and student employees.
* Foster a competitive, collaborative, and customer-focused sales culture through ongoing professional development and accountability.

3. Sales Strategy, Customer Service and Account Management (15%)

* Oversee customer retention initiatives, including season ticket renewals, upgrades, and premium seating campaigns.
* Direct customer service efforts for the Ticket Sales team, ensuring timely resolution of customer concerns and a high level of service.
* Utilize CRM systems and sales analytics to evaluate campaign effectiveness, identify trends, and improve sales performance.
* Develop and implement policies and best practices that enhance customer experience and retention.

4. Ticket and Development Operations Collaboration and Event Support (15%)

* Serve as the primary liaison between Ticket Sales, Ticket Operations and Development to ensure seamless execution of ticketing initiatives.
* Collaborate on game-day ticket operations, sales activations, premium hospitality, and special events.
* Assist with planning and execution of non-athletic ticketed events as assigned.
* Coordinate with Ticket Operations to ensure sales initiatives align with ticket distribution policies and operational procedures.

5. Strategic Planning, Administration, and Department Collaboration (10%)

* Serve as a member of the External Operations Revenue Generation team to identify and implement new revenue opportunities.
* Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, and External Relations to align ticket sales campaigns with departmental objectives.
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and strategic planning related to ticket sales and revenue generation.
* Ensure compliance with University, Southeastern Conference, NCAA, and departmental policies and procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Athletics Department's mission.

6. Collaboration and Administrative Support (5%)

* Assist with reporting, budgeting support, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Grade: GGS 007
