Inova Juniper Program is looking for a dedicated Research Project Associate to join the Team. This full-time role will be day-shift working Monday - Friday located in Fairfax, VA.

The Research Project Associate performs administrative functions such as data collection/management in order to support the accomplishments and project goals of the Research department. Responsible for tracking fiscal resources, cost/revenue activities, and maintenance of grant and budgetary records. Adheres to ICH- GCP, DHHS (OHRP and FDA) as well as Inova Health System guidelines when implementing research trials to ensure the highest quality of research and human subject protection from site selection to study closure. Collects, validates and enters data using established tools, technology and databases while identifying and organizing relevant research studies or projects to enhance and improve patient care.

Research Project Associate Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the preparation of documents or manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals or posters for conference presentations.
  • Obtains data from internal and external databases to support project requirements.
  • Enters accurate and complete research/project data into databases.
  • Assists in identifying and reconciling research costs for tests/procedures.
  • Exercises fiscal responsibility in decision making for project related expenditures by maintaining accurate records of expenditures with supporting documentation and receipts.
  • Maintains records of direct and indirect costs with budget justification for expenditures.
  • Participates in continuing educational activities such as Inova sponsored conferences, webinars, sponsor initiated trainings and conference calls to enhance research and/or project support skills.
  • Conducts and synthesizes reviews of literature to support the purpose and hypotheses of a study/project according to project timelines.
  • Assists in the submission of an eProtocol applications, follows-up on review/approval and addresses concerns.
  • Performs research procedures as needed including screening and enrollment of research subjects, specimen/data collection, study baseline and follow-up visits.
  • Assists in the preparation and submission of regulatory documents to the study sponsor and IRB as required by protocol and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures regulatory readiness for internal Research Quality Improvement Team and external (Sponsor, FDA) audit visits.
  • Assists in notifying the IRC, Research Manager/department director, PI, IRB, sponsor and other appropriate personnel of audit visits and results as appropriate.
  • Performs administrative functions in order to support the accomplishments of research/project objectives.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate Degree, 60 or more credit hours toward Bachelor's Degree or certified as a research coordinator through the ACRP
  • Experience: 2 years in a research, administrative or clinical support role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience interacting with patients, customers, or clients, with strong communication and interpersonal skills preferred.
  • Exposure to healthcare or clinical research preferred.
