Responsibilities

The Commercial Loan Documentation Manager is responsible for leading a team of Commercial Documentation Specialists who complete LaserPro document preparation and attorney documentation reviews. The teams provide support for all commercial lending segments. (See Job Profiles for details). This role also serves as the Documentation and Loan Origination systems expert for the broader organization.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $60,000/yr - $121,300/yr plus bonus. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate's relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location

Key Accountabilities

This role is responsible for ensuring effective processes and procedures are in place so the team can deliver a quality product in a timely manner to our internal and external clients. This person must have a thorough understanding of the systems used by their team, and processes defined in Loan Guidelines. The systems and processes include but are not limited to:

    LaserPro (Documentation System)
  • Commercial Online Application (CML and Abrigo/Sageworks)
  • Signature/CBS (Core Banking System)
  • Nautilus (imaging system)
  • Docusign (eSign system)
  • Loan Structuring/Processing guidelines
  • Loan Document Preparation Guidelines
  • Authority levels used for escalation and exception processing

Team Leadership

  • Establishes and maintains department guidelines and procedures
  • Establishes and maintains effective workflow and service level expectations for team
    • Preparation of Loan Documents including specialty lending products and letters of credit
    • Review of loan documents prepared by outside legal counsel
  • Primary contact for interfacing with partner teams on questions about Commercial Documentation processes and procedures.
  • Serves as an escalation point for team issues and exception decisions.
  • Collaborates with other members of loan fulfillment management to provide consistent guidance for team on new or changing processes.
  • Promotes an environment where associates exercise appropriate levels of judgement, make decisions that allow the process to flow smoothly, and escalate appropriately based on the complexity of the loan and magnitude of risk to the bank, all with a goal of expediting the delivery of accurate product to internal and external clients.
  • Works with all other departments within the company to continuously develop more efficient processes and ensure the development and implementation of policies and procedures are consistent with prescribed documentation requirements.
  • Makes accurate decisions in imprecise situations, determining appropriate measures to protect the client and the bank, and explaining the decision and rationale with internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze effectiveness of programs and policies and provide feedback to senior management regarding opportunities and threats to the organization.
  • Assists Commercial Loan Fulfillment Director as a training resource for the broader Commercial Lending team
  • Technical systems testing and development of procedures for commercial loan origination system, including interface with loan documentation application (currently LaserPro) and other various supporting software.
  • Resolves loan software system issues
  • Identifies and provides coaching opportunities, as necessary.
  • Responsible for evaluating and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
  • Works alongside Team Leads for recruitment and hiring for team
  • Manages overall department calendar and provides final approvals for vacation/leave requests.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience working with commercial lending documentation.
  • High level of knowledge of loan documents, Bank loan policy and Commercial Guidelines & Procedures.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have experience working in a fast-paced office environment with service level expectations.
  • Must be able to meet quick turn deadlines
  • Experience with or aptitude for managing a team of associates in a high intensity environment with high service level expectations.
