As a member of the Customer Support Metrology Applications Engineering team in Boise, Idaho, you will play a key role in supporting and advancing ASML YieldStar metrology solutions. This highly dynamic position combines customer-facing technical problem solving, new product introductions (NPI), technology node transitions, high-volume manufacturing (HVM) ramps, and strategic customer engagements. You will work closely with customers, account teams, product development organizations, and global subject matter experts to optimize metrology performance and enable semiconductor manufacturing excellence. In this role, you will translate customer requirements and manufacturing challenges into metrology solutions that deliver measurable value. You will apply deep technical expertise, data-driven analysis, and a systems-level perspective to solve complex process control problems, improve customer productivity, and influence future product capabilities. Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and/or participate in customer projects supporting technology node transitions, process optimization initiatives, and high-volume manufacturing ramp activities. Own project workstreams within larger programs, developing and executing project plans independently while providing regular updates to internal stakeholders and customers. Translate customer on-product issues into actionable lithography and metrology problem statements and drive resolution efforts to maximize customer performance and productivity. Apply technical expertise and data-driven methodologies to identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and implement sustainable solutions. Support new product introductions (NPI), process qualifications, and manufacturing readiness activities. Collaborate proactively with customers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for expanding the application and value of ASML metrology products and solutions. Conduct advanced data analysis and interpretation to ensure accurate conclusions are drawn from customer experiments, process investigations, and engineering studies. Analyze process control, overlay, and metrology performance data to provide actionable recommendations for customer manufacturing improvement. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, transparency, and successful project execution. Prepare and deliver technical presentations, training sessions, and product demonstrations for customers and internal teams. Support new user enablement, customer adoption, and ongoing success with ASML metrology products. Continuously develop expertise across the ASML metrology portfolio and drive the implementation of innovative solutions that improve customer outcomes.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering field; Master's degree or PhD preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in Applications Engineering, Process Engineering, Yield Engineering, Metrology, Lithography, or a related technical field. Minimum 3 years of experience within semiconductor manufacturing, advanced technology development, or a high-tech manufacturing environment. Minimum 5 years of experience utilizing Python, MATLAB, JMP, SQL, or equivalent data analysis and statistical software tools. Demonstrated experience performing complex technical data analysis and effectively communicating findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven experience managing stakeholders, leading cross-functional initiatives, and driving change in a dynamic environment. Experience performing statistical analysis, process characterization, and measurement system evaluation using large manufacturing datasets.

Strong understanding of overlay fundamentals, measurement uncertainty, tool matching, metrology characterization, and process performance metrics. Ability to diagnose complex process interactions and translate manufacturing challenges into actionable technical solutions. Experience developing scripts, automation solutions, or data workflows using Python, MATLAB, SQL, JMP, or similar tools. Ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for engineering, operational, and executive-level audiences. Proven ability to lead technical discussions, facilitate decision-making, and build alignment among diverse stakeholder groups. Other Information
Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required for customer support, training, and cross-site collaboration. This position requires the ability to work in semiconductor manufacturing and laboratory environments. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position may be subject to U.S. export control regulations and requires compliance with applicable legal and licensing requirements. This position may require access to customer manufacturing facilities and compliance with customer-specific safety, security, and operational requirements.
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
