Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean of Student Affairs/Director of Residence Life, this position provides administrative support to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs/Director of Residence Life, Assistant Directors of Residence Life, and Program Assistant. Manages the resident housing database (RMS) and college assignments/room selection process; responsible for key and electronic keycard management and security for all residents including facility keys and keycards; maintains confidential student information and records; coordinates follow up related to judicial paperwork; coordinates the residence life office; oversees resident mail room and package distribution; assists in the preparation and execution of Muir College student move-in and move-out; coordinates and schedules the use of conference room facilities; manages the Residence Life office email account and webpage and performs general administrative functions.

• Experience working in an office/administrative setting, preferably in a college or university environment.

• Knowledge of residential housing operations in a university setting.

• Demonstrated experience with business productivity applications including, but not limited to, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Publisher and Excel. Experience with or ability to quickly learn Content Management System (CMS) for website updates.

• Demonstrated ability to accurately proofread and prepare correspondence including correct grammar, punctuation, spelling and standard business format.

• Proven ability to initiate and track various issues and follow-up to ensure timely completion of projects.

• Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly, courteously, and diplomatically communicate information to a diverse group of people (including students, parents, staff, and the community) in person, on the telephone, and via e-mail in a professional manner.

• Ability to organize and meet deadlines in a timely manner, deal with changing priorities and work well under pressure. Skill to coordinate high volume workload with frequent interruptions and conflicting priorities.

• Ability to develop, organize and manage systems for the coordination of student information and confidential files.

• Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.

• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, initiative, tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive matters and maintaining strict confidentiality.

• Skilled in using general office equipment including laptop, desktop computer, projectors, fax machine, scanner, copy machine, etc.

• Ability to maintain acceptable work habits, demeanor, attention to details, punctuality and regularity of attendance.
