Job Summary:
University Housing Facilities is looking for an experienced Trades Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor to join our Team! As a Trades Supervisor or Maintenance Supervisor, you'll lead and support a team of skilled trades or maintenance staff within University Housing residence halls, dining spaces, and University Apartments. You'll help foster a collaborative work environment and will support the team in critical project goals and daily operations. University Housing Facilities is looking for a Trades Supervisor who needs to have knowledge and experience in construction trades and experience in supervision to provide appropriate levels of service to residents and staff. This position handles key coordination of multi-trade work in occupied residence halls and dining spaces, communicating regularly with residents and parents. This position manages daily service requests impacting trades staff in residence halls and dining locations ensuring that our service standards are met for residents and guests. This position also manages several projects with both in-house staff and contracted vendors and is responsible for managing their trades supplies and the services budget. University Housing Facilities is also looking for a Maintenance Supervisor who needs to have knowledge and experience in mechanical maintenance and experience in supervision to provide appropriate levels of service to residents and staff. This position handles key coordination of maintenance work in occupied University Apartments, communicating regularly with residents. This position manages the turnover of apartments for the maintenance staff that need to work in every apartment between tenants. This position also manages several projects in the maintenance area and is also responsible for managing the annual maintenance supplies and services budget. University Housing Facilities leadership work closely together to support the needs of our resident community and to ensure an excellent work environment for our staff. As part of the Facilities leadership team, you'll lead and support area staff, provide timely communications on projects, share important updates with stakeholders, and provide your thoughts and expertise on day-to-day and long-term strategies. Division of University Housing, University Housing Facilities Housing Facilities is part of the Division of University Housing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Our team is responsible for the full spectrum of two distinct facilities operations, which include housekeeping, mechanical maintenance, infrastructure repairs and renewal, and longterm capital planning, for both undergraduate students and graduate students and their families living with us. As a student service organization, Housing Facilities advances the university's mission by delivering safe, well-maintained living and learning environments. The Residence Halls, consisting of 30 buildings and 2 million square feet, houses approximately 8,000 undergraduate students during the academic year and welcomes more than 18,000 conference and program guests each summer. In addition to living spaces, our operations support a wide range of programs and functions, including classrooms, office spaces, dining and culinary operations, marketplace venues, meeting rooms, and event spaces. University Apartments provides housing to an average of 2,500 residents in 1,240 apartments, serving a diverse community of graduate students, staff, and their families. The University Apartments community is located on over 80 acres of greenspace and also includes a large community center with a Housing-operated licensed early childhood education program. While most of our front-line staff and supervisors are hired with a primary unit location to serve residents and guests, specific to their role, our facilities team is committed to remaining flexible enough to support each other and our operations as needed throughout the year. Compensation:The starting annual salary is $92,000 or higher based on qualifications with a competitive retirement and benefits package, including vacation, holidays, and paid time off.
