Position Location
This position will be located onsite in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.
Job Overview
Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Supervisor will supervise all personnel, labor, training, tools, and supplies necessary to perform transportation, handling and storage of materials activities.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
- Supervises employees to include the assistant supervisor responsible for engaging in shipping, receiving/storing of product.
- Receives telephone calls and visitors to the office; ascertain the nature of the call and directs to the appropriate contact.
- Resolves customer complaints and inquires in accordance with established procedures and guidelines; for those issues that cannot be resolved, direct customer to appropriate personnel.
- Oversees the scheduling of customer appointments for issues and returns. Maintain customer records.
- Plans, schedules and implements all supply chain activities including but not limited to after hour moves, material/equipment shipping, delivery and setup, etc. as required to support contract operations.
- Provides training for all departmental staff members ensuring compliance with regulations; including improper business practices, personal conflicts of interest, etc.
- Directs, coordinates, and plans distribution of material.
- Communicates with assistant supervisor to determine materials overdue, location and availability of materials.
- Oversees/conducts negotiation sessions with government counterparts, union representation, potential subcontractors and other outside vendors.
- Meets with representatives of customer field activities, managers, supervisors, and staff concerning policies and procedures to attain maximum supply control and to discuss and resolve major warehouse issues.
- Ensures that all work requests are generated and completed in accordance with customer and company processes and procedures.
- Meets with the warehouse personal to ensure work activities are coordinated.
- Ensures all supplies, materials, and equipment are maintained and stored as outlined in customer and company processes and procedures.
- Responsible for processes of department time sheets.
- Ensures all work is performed in a safe and secure environment.
- Performs periodic inventories and prepares proper paperwork for material and replacement items as required.
- Performs various lower classification of job including, but not limited to: file maintenance, workspace cleanup and maintain warehouse space.
- Operates Government or company owned motor vehicles and/or other equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing job responsibilities in a timely and cost effective manner.
Working harmoniously with CIS employees and customers. Managing successful working relationships with all customer and CIS management to outline work to be done, after which the incumbent will be expected to work independently. Ensure all warehouse activities are performed as outlined by company Standard Operating Procedures or customer requirements. Keeping the Supply Chain Manager informed of unique issues/situations that occur and subordinate employee performance or behavior issues that may warrant disciplinary actions. Preparing employee evaluation and/or recommendations. * Meeting regularly with the assistant supervisor and staff to identify and resolve issues. * Adhering to established company safety, personnel policies and standard operating procedures. * Performing other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High school graduate or equivalent GED.
* Five (5) years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehousing. * Two (2) years in a leadership or management role, i.e. performance evaluations, hiring, corrective actions, mentoring/coaching, etc. * Familiarity with basic mathematical functions is required. * Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. * Experience preparing various reports to management, maintaining property inventory records and filling customer requests. * Experience with purchase requests for parts/materials/ and services. * Demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze organizational needs and recommendation solutions and/or process improvements. * Demonstrated ability to interact with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations. * Performs assigned work tasks with minimal supervision. * Demonstrated ability to communicate, problem solve and make decisions effectively under pressure, yet maintain a professional courteous demeanor. - Ability to pass a post-offer background and drug screen.
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
- Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Preferred:
- Understanding of Government contracts.
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study. * Possess an active intelligence community level clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
