DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing a wide variety of vehicles, construction equipment, and powered tools to support safe and reliable operations. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:
- Equipment Repair: Perform maintenance and repair work on gasoline and diesel vehicles, trucks, tractors, and construction machinery
- System Diagnostics: Carry out mechanical checks and tune-ups, replace parts, and complete repairs on cooling, suspension, electrical, fuel, brake, steering, and driveline systems
- Safety Inspections: Conduct official state safety and emissions inspections and complete required records and paperwork
- Field Service: Provide emergency roadside service and perform repairs at field locations when necessary
- Parts Management: Obtain needed supplies, provide original equipment manufacturer (OEM) information, and maintain accurate equipment records
- Workplace Safety: Maintain a safe work area, follow proper procedures, and take proactive steps to prevent accidents
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Travel, overtime, and shift work required. Work hours are subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,819.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.
