Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Electronic Systems Directorate (AFLCMC/ES). The Air Force Program Execution Office for PEO Electronic Systems (AFPEO/ES) has the collective AFMC mission responsibility to manage and execute the modernization, development, testing, production, fielding, and sustainment of the PEO Electronic Systems portfolio, which includes over 130 programs for the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and foreign allies. AFLCMC/ES is headquartered at Hanscom AFB, MA, with geographically separated operating units CONUS and OCONUS.

This position is with AFLCMC/ESA and will provide systems engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, test, operation, sustainment, and system disposal.



Responsibilities

In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

Responsibilities

    Provide systems, electrical, and/or mechanical engineering support for new and legacy DoD systems

  • Accomplish and coordinate engineering tasks for modifications and systems upgrades

  • Provide support to customers including data analysis, modification programs, repair requirements, reliability/maintainability actions, and worldwide user support

  • Assist in designing, planning, execution, analysis, reporting, and documentation during any phase of test and evaluation programs, including applicable FAA certifications and procedures

  • Provide engineering review of programs throughout the life-cycle

  • Review and ensure all engineering-related documents are accurate and complete

  • Participate in the development of system specifications and system architecture products

  • Participate in test and evaluation support, including planning, test conduct, and evaluation of results against operational requirements

  • Assist in scheduling and securing required test resources in support of project and program office objectives

  • Provide technical evaluation of contractor proposals

  • Monitor, assess, and report on test and evaluation efforts; provide recommendations for test facility improvements

  • Support development of system and program technical plans, including review of technical documents, participation in working groups, tracking risks/issues, and reviewing test plans, procedures, and data



Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain an Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD, OR,

    • 15 years of directly related experience, eight of which must be in the DoD

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
