DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, the Orthopedic Technologist for the Orthopedic Cast Room provides all casting services ordered by the physician which includes fracture reductions, casting / taping / splinting, extremity ulcer debriding, joint aspiration, suture removal, crutch / cane training and supportive hardware adjustments, brace fitting and application.

Assists with teaching for the Cast Room to students, residents, and community professionals.

Provides care for both inpatients and outpatients. Performs other related tasks as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience as an Orthopedic Technologist
  • Graduate of a NAOT certified program (National Association of Orthopedic Technologists).
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within 6 months of hire date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • One (1) year experience.
  • NAOT certification.
  • NBCOT certified.
  • Knowledge with addressing casting and splinting issues and how to apply & troubleshoot wound vac therapy.
  • Worked in an academic / teaching setting as teaching casting & splinting will be a large part of the position.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $75,961 - $75,961 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $36.38 - $36.38
