Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Engineering is seeking a detailed Engineer to manage and monitor the execution of the Product Creation Process (PCP) and Tollgates.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to evaluate and improve quality and/or efficiency of product development processes.
  • Monitor Tollgate Progress of all Tollgates in the Engineering Department
  • Work with Engineering Management to manage the department project portfolio through Tollgate
  • Develop and report metrics to drive improvements in the PCP and drive execution of improvements
  • Interface with Engineers, Program Management and Engineering Management to ensure Tollgates are in proper phase based on project status
  • Review Tollgates prior to routing for approval to ensure completeness of Tollgate documentation and consistency of documentation across the department. This includes completion of Six Sigma tools in proper phase and monitoring verbiage to ensure appropriateness of project documentation.
  • Conduct Tollgate Training in department as needed to improve accuracy, consistency and efficiency of Tollgate documentation throughout the department.
  • Coordinate Tollgate alignment activities with other PACCAR divisions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Up to 10% travel can be expected.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant expereince
  • Experience with Tollgate project management required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and related computer software required.
  • Ability to learn on the fly and adapt to change.
  • Demonstrated team player with high level of initiative, follow through and flexibility.
  • Must be detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking workload.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma methodology and tools
  • Requires independent judgment and effective task management.
  • Strong communication skills.
