Job Summary

The Heavy Lift/Heavy Haul Superintendent is responsible for planning and safely executing all lifting and heavy haul operations on MSI worksites, with a focus on developing detailed lift plans using AutoCAD. This role ensures all lifting and transportation activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with OSHA, site HSE regulations, and industry standards. The Superintendent works closely with the Heavy Haul Manager and coordinates with field personnel to support successful project delivery.


Essential Functions

  • Supports the Company's commitment to safety and its Core Values.
  • Upholds the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Develops comprehensive lift plans using AutoCAD, including crane selection, configuration, ground bearing capacity and rigging details.
  • Conducts logistics and transportation studies for heavy haul and/or oversized components, equipment, and modules.
  • Coordinates with crane operators, riggers, and signal personnel to ensure proper execution of lift plans.
  • Prepares and verifies worksite conditions for lifting operations.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, ASME standards, and manufacturer specifications for all lifting equipment on site.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks associated with special lifting operations.
  • Verifies lifting equipment condition and capacity prior to use.
  • Confirms qualifications and readiness of crane operators, riggers, and signal personnel.
  • Provides field-level supervision and technical support during critical lifts.
  • Reports directly to the Heavy Haul Manager and provides regular updates on lift planning and execution.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in heavy haul and lift planning roles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for lift plan development.
  • Strong understanding of ASME B30 series standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Certifications in rigging and crane operations preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in diverse environmental conditions and perform physical tasks, including climbing.
