JOB SUMMARY The Site Quality Coordinator supports the project team to ensure the quality of project planning and execution is compliant with contract requirements. The Site Quality Coordinator inspects the quality of installed work in accordance with customer requirements, contract documents, and company standards at a minimum and stops work in progress if it does not comply. The Site Quality Coordinator identifies areas where the project team can add value for the customer, as well as quality risks, and supports efforts to mitigate them. They build and sustain a strong quality culture where every team member takes quality personally JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Be the expert! Demonstrate thorough knowledge of contract requirements/ documents, including contract drawings, specifications, and any other pertinent quality requirements. Review shop drawings, submittals, and IOMs against contract drawings and specifications for compliance and access requirements. * Create and administer a project-specific QAQC plan and share with the customer. * Review project-specific QAQC plan with project manager(s), Project Superintendents, and foremen in detail. * Participate in Design Review to identify quality risks and economization opportunities. Review outstanding RFIs and follow up as needed within one week following the Design Review. * Participate in Quality Risk Assessment to identify quality risks, best practices, and actions. Review outstanding actions and follow up as needed within one week following the Risk Assessment. * Ensure PM is communicating with field leaders to have up-to-date project documents (contract drawings, shop drawings, submittals, IOMs, bulletin updates) so the project is built Right the First Time. * Meet regularly with other Site Quality Coordinators to allow consistency and communication throughout the Construction Division. * Communicate trends with operations to allow department training and education. * Work closely with GC/Owner QAQC team to build a partnership and anticipate punch items. * Ensure awareness of McKenney's Quality Absolutes and Install Best Practices for all field leaders on the project. * Review all new material and equipment arriving at the project, warehouse, or laydown yards and document any deficiencies. This documentation shall be through reports, videos, pictures, and programs, and shall be digitally stored in both the customers' requirements and the project-defined method. * Walk the project regularly and document the current state of quality and identify quality deficiencies to the project team * Work productively with any project that requires quality tracking technology and ensure all updates are compliant with the project schedule. * Know and understand all McKenney's quality best practices and ensure all are being followed throughout construction, start-up/Cx, and project closeout * Attend and document all project system testing and ensure the testing meets project and McKenney's requirements as it pertains to the completeness, quality, and safety expectations. * Document all corrections to deficiencies and ensure they are corrected per McKenney's/Project/Customer standards. * Regularly communicate recurring deficiencies with the Project Team and Field Operations to allow for more thorough training, coaching, and accountability. * Inspect pre-fabrication for compliance with shop drawings and spools. Coordinate any deviations or damages to the shop and document using Observations. * Inspect the condition and quantities of material and equipment upon delivery/arrival and confirm it matches approved submittals, specs, and contract documents. Coordinate any deviations/damages with the vendor directly and document using Observations. * Review all first-of-kind work, identify quality improvements, and ensure proper training and techniques are utilized for future installations. * Regularly participate in Pre-Task Planning sessions to identify and increase awareness of quality risks and best practices associated with daily tasks. * Attend 3WLA meetings and clear a path before work commences in new areas by anticipating and eliminating associated quality risks. * Lead Quality Job Walks with the project team to ensure compliance with the 7 Quality Absolutes. * Build an internal punch program to get ahead of punch, Cx, and turnover steps with the customer. * Walk the jobsite to identify and eliminate examples of the 8 Wastes of Lean (DOWNTIME). * Capture/ document installation progress and quality of completed work. * Document pressure testing within the Test & Inspection Log in PMConnect/Smartsheet. * Coordinate and document all Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) inspections. * Inspect the quality of the subcontractor's scope to ensure compliance with project requirements. * Review and resolve outstanding Quality Observations. * Support the Commissioning team in resolving outstanding CxAlloy items. * Support the T&B process in resolving their punch items in a timely manner. * Ensure all rework is reported and tracked properly with correct craft, labor, material, and/or subcontract cost. Participate in Root Cause Analysis conversations to learn why significant reworks occur and identify lessons learned, best practices, and moving forward actions. Review outstanding actions and follow up as needed. * Meet regularly with GC/Owner, subcontractors, and project team to review current state of quality and future plans. * Assemble closeout package for GC and Owner at project completion. Documents may include, but are not limited to, IOMs, T&B Reports, Startup and Cx Reports, Pressure Testing Results, As-Builts, Controls As-Builts, McK Warranty Letter, Manufacturer Warranty Letter, and Service Proposal. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience 2+ years of experience in the mechanical contracting field Must have experience as a minimum Crew leader/Foreman Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work well as part of a team and independently. * Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals. * Ability to maintain attention to detail while completing multiple or repetitive tasks. * Able to demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines. * Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed and determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance. * Must possess and maintain an exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others. * Must project a professional and polished image that inspires confidence and trust. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS * OSHA-10 or OSHA-30. * McKenney's Quality Observation training. * Corps of Engineers QAQC certification. * Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. * Active member of the local Union. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS * Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises. * Work environment involves some exposure to construction, mechanical, and electrical-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions and McKenney's Safety Absolutes. * Moderate physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and extensive standing and walking. * Work requires local and occasional out-of-town travel to job sites and customer locations. * Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and scaffolds, and to negotiate work areas under construction.
