(WEST), a dynamic medium size consulting firm with offices across the United States and Canada, is looking for a full-time Corporate Finance Accountant in our Fort Collins, CO, Cheyenne, WY or Laramie, WY office. The minimum base salary for thisposition is $70,000 and the maximum starting salary is $80,000, plus additional annual profit-sharing bonus potential. Salary may vary based on education, knowledge and experience.



Job Summary:


The successful candidate will bring strong accounting and finance experience, a process-improvement mindset, and the ability to translate accurate financial information into practical support for teams across the company. The Corporate Finance Accountant will work both independently and collaboratively with the accounting team, support staff, project managers, scientists, and biometricians to support reliable financial operations and informed decision-making.



Responsibilities include a mix of recurring accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance support, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration, including:



  • Cash management and associated reporting.
  • General journal entries and reconciliation of GL accounts.
  • State tax filings
  • Month-end close procedures.
  • Year-end close procedures.
  • Day to day operational support.
  • Project and grant reporting.
  • Fixed asset management.
  • Calculating overhead and indirect rates.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager, Finance Director and CFO with various compliance audits.
  • Performing quality control activities across accounting functions.
  • Training employees in job duties, company policies, and Deltek Vantagepoint software application.
  • Assisting in establishing accounting policies and procedures.
  • Participating in regular meetings to communicate status and relevant project updates.

The Corporate Finance Accountant we are seeking will have the opportunity to contribute to WEST's continued growth as a premier environmental consulting firm. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, collaborative, comfortable meeting deadlines, and motivated by improving processes and supporting teams across the organization.




  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Three (3+) plus years of accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Clear oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting information to both finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Highly collaborative work ethic with a track record of maintaining positive relationships with coworkers, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to reliably meet work expectations, follow instructions from managers, and accept guidance and constructive feedback.



After an offer of employment is made, the candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and DMV records check that meets WEST's minimum criteria to operate a motor vehicle on behalf of the company. A valid driver's license will be required.
