The Salvage Line Supervisor is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant recovery of high-value metals from decommissioned electrical distribution transformers. This position oversees daily production activities, drives operational performance, develops team members, and ensures company safety, quality, and productivity standards are achieved. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in manufacturing, industrial recycling, scrap metal processing, or related operations who can motivate teams, improve processes, and deliver results in a fast-paced production environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Operations & Production Management
- Supervise the daily teardown, processing, and recovery of materials from distribution transformers.
- Monitor workflow and production output to maximize efficiency, material recovery rates, and metal purity.
- Coordinate labor and resources to ensure production schedules and departmental goals are achieved.
- Track incoming transformer units and outgoing recycled material volumes.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve operational performance.
- Collaborate with leadership to establish and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly objectives.
- Ensure effective shift transitions and clear communication between departments and supervisors.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
- Train employees on equipment operation, safe work practices, and material identification processes.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and administer corrective actions when necessary.
- Monitor employee attendance, timekeeping, and workforce performance.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture throughout all operations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies.
- Conduct routine safety observations and address unsafe conditions immediately.
- Verify employees complete all required safety and compliance training on time.
- Report incidents, injuries, hazards, and compliance concerns promptly.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure recovered materials meet company and customer quality standards.
- Maintain accurate operational records and production reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Equipment & Facility Management
- Ensure equipment is operated safely and effectively.
- Coordinate maintenance needs and communicate equipment issues to management.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and productive work environment.
Additional Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers as needed.
- Support other operational areas and business needs when required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, industrial recycling, scrap metal processing, metals recovery, or a similar industrial environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing production teams and operational performance.
- Strong knowledge of metal sorting, material recovery processes, production equipment, and warehouse operations.
- Proven commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred
- OSHA 10 Certification.
- Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Experience with transformer recycling, metals recovery, or industrial dismantling operations.

Physical Requirements To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee must be able to:
- Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, kneel, squat, and reach.
- Climb ladders and maintain three points of contact while working at heights.
- Work safely in a manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled and may include exposure to heat and cold conditions.
- Safely operate around industrial equipment and machinery.
