What to Expect

Tesla's Virtual Power Plant programs residential customers with the opportunity to earn money and support their community by allowing their Tesla products to participate in an aggregation that provides high-value services to the electrical grid.This Program Manager willownthesuccess ofTesla's industry-leading distributed Virtual Power Plantprograms, andareresponsibleforensuring growth targets and performance metricsare met for theirassigned programs.They will work with stakeholders across Tesla and interface with external partners to manage programs that provide excellent customer experience and generate value for the grid, the customer, and Tesla.

A successful candidate will haveprevious experience growing enrollments inutilityprogramsand being responsible for their overall success. They will possesproject management experience,and a grounded understanding of distributed energy resources and utility programs.They will be motivated by excellent customer and business outcomes, will be a self-sufficient problem-solver, and will be excellent atmaintainingprofessionalrelationships inside and outside of Tesla.


What You'll Do
  • Own success for your assigned VPP programs
  • Track and report on key performance metrics, drive improvements, and serve as the primary escalation point for any issue impacting program performance
  • Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve workflows, data collection to improve decision-making, and test new strategies to increase program growth
  • Obsess over the customer experience. Focus on each stage of their journey, ensuring that the VPP Program enhances their overall experience
  • Ensure seamless program operations by collaborating with Marketing, Business Development, Product, Engineering, Data, Operations, and Support teams. Connect the output of each team into a holistic superior customer experience
  • Be an effective communicator. Maintain consistent communication with an array of stakeholders to ensure efficient program implementation across the portfolio, review ongoing needs, and provide timely solutions and recommendations to help achieve program success
  • Foster effective decision-making and operational excellence by building relationships and helping internal teams understand priorities and business context

What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in project, product, or program management
  • 5+ years direct experience working with or for utilities, VPP aggregators, or grid service providers
  • Experience creating and maintaining business processes
  • Basic software development skills, including leveraging AI tools, experience working with APIs, and proficiency with databases (SQL) and reporting tools
  • High ownership and accountability
  • Strong judgment and a bias toward action
  • Experience operating in high-growth startup environments

    Expected Compensation
    $88,000 - $162,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
