Job Summary:

The Manager of Resource Pool Operations provides strategic and operational leadership across community-based ambulatory clinics, ensuring efficient, high-quality practice operations while maintaining exceptional patient, provider, and staff experiences. This role oversees the Community Practice Float Pool and serves as a floating operational leader across multiple clinic locations, partnering closely with Medical Directors and clinical leadership to optimize workflows, improve access to care, drive operational excellence, and achieve financial and strategic performance goals

Key Responsibilities:

Float Pool Operations: (50%)

  • Provide operational leadership and management support across multiple free-standing ambulatory clinic locations, ensuring continuity of operations, standardized practices, and the consistent delivery of high-quality patient care.

  • Partner with Medical Directors, Providers, and Regional Directors across assigned clinics to optimize clinical workflows, improve patient access, enhance operational efficiency, and promote exceptional patient, provider, and staff satisfaction.

  • Oversee daily practice operations across multiple clinic sites by monitoring operational performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing best practices that improve quality, productivity, and service excellence.

  • Coordinate staffing resources, operational coverage, and workflow support across free-standing clinics to maintain business continuity, address operational challenges, and respond to evolving organizational needs.

  • Lead and support cross-site operational initiatives, including workflow redesign, process standardization, new clinic openings, provider onboarding, and implementation of organizational priorities.

Float Clinic Manager: (50%)

  • Assesses and revises, as necessary, an appropriate staffing/skill mix for the practice and applicable diagnostic and procedural areas.

  • Assesses and adjusts exam and procedural room assignments to physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to maximize efficiency and improve workflows.

  • Communicates and ensures compliance with CU policies and procedures.

  • Reviews and implements all necessary operational policies and ensures alignment with organizational policies. Follows chain of command and presents all new clinic policies to CU Medicine's Policy and Procedure Committee. Implements standardized workflows and adapts practice team accordingly.

  • Continuously reviews and adjusts business and clinical

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Nursing.

    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Colorado.

  • At least five (5) years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, which includes supervisory experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Nursing Administration.

  • Ambulatory quality improvement (QI) experience.

  • 3+ years outpatient clinic management.

  • Management of budget, purchasing, and/or accounting.

  • Experience in use of registry data and quality systems.

  • Bilingual, Spanish-speaking.

  • Certified Medical Practice Executive (CPME).

Conditions of Employment:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross healthcare provider level CPR certification ) or certification within 90 days of hire.

  • Maintains all required licensure and certifications for position.

  • Must be able to work in-person.

  • Must be able to travel to multiple locations,

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Ability to work within large, complex healthcare systems

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $88,613 - $118,741

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
