Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $32.00-$34.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM-11:00 PM
Travel: Up to 75%, including overnight stays

Position Summary:
As a Field Technician 3 / Maintenance Support Technician, you will provide technical and leadership support for material handling and automation equipment at customer sites. This role will focus on the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of automated equipment, with a strong emphasis on CNC systems, conveyor equipment, and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant technical experience, strong communication skills, and previous experience working in a customer-facing environment. Experience with palletizers is a strong plus.

This position requires up to 75% travel to various customer sites, often including overnight stays. Travel is typically within the United States, with occasional international travel possible.

Responsibilities
* Provide technical expertise and leadership in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of material handling and automation equipment.
* Troubleshoot and resolve equipment faults involving electrical, mechanical, controls, and automation systems.
* Perform maintenance and support on conveyor and sortation systems, including removal, installation, startup, calibration, preventive maintenance, and functional testing.
* Troubleshoot and maintain CNC equipment and control systems.
* Identify equipment faults, develop root-cause analysis, and implement effective resolution plans.
* Provide technical support remotely by phone or computer as needed.
* Communicate professionally with customers and supervisors regarding equipment status, performance, repairs, and improvement opportunities.
* Maintain strong customer relationships while working onsite and represent the company professionally.
* Collaborate with customers and internal teams to develop equipment performance and reliability improvement plans.
* Support and facilitate cross-training, mentorship, and technical training activities.
* Complete service reports, inventory documentation, and CMMS records for work performed at customer sites.
* Respond to technical emergencies and customer support needs as required.
* Follow all industrial safety standards, including LOTO and PPE requirements.

Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, automation, electrical/mechanical systems, or a related technical field.
* CNC experience, including troubleshooting and working with CNC equipment and control panels.
* Hands-on experience with conveyor and material handling systems.
* Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including: AC power, AC motors, Wiring, Electrical drawings and schematics, Control panels, DC power supplies, Servo drives, PLCs, Optical devices such as encoders and photo eyes.
* Strong mechanical troubleshooting experience with gearboxes, sprockets, chains, bearings, guide rollers, and related components.
* Ability to troubleshoot PLCs, PC controllers, controls systems, and communication networks.
* Previous customer-facing experience with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and provide technical direction to other team members.
* Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
* Ability to utilize CMMS systems to accurately document work performed.
* Knowledge of conveying systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to obtain and maintain certification to operate various forklift equipment.
* Strong understanding of industrial safety standards, including LOTO and PPE.
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-focused.

Preferred Qualifications
* Palletizer experience is highly preferred/strongly valued.
* Experience leading teams or providing technical leadership.
* Technical degree, MSSC certification in Network Repair, or military training in electronics, radio, mechanical systems, or a related field.
* Experience with installation, startup, calibration, and commissioning of automation equipment.
* Experience delivering hands-on technical training.
