Store Designer (Retail Environments) We are seeking a Store Designer to support the creation of compelling, on-brand retail environments across North America. This role plays a key part in translating brand standards and creative concepts into high-quality, site-specific store designs that deliver both aesthetic impact and functional performance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, creatively driven, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Develop store layouts, floor plans, storefront elevations, and 3D renderings that align with brand standards
- Translate global design concepts into localized store solutions while maintaining consistency
- Produce and review construction drawings and shop drawings for accuracy and adherence to design intent
- Partner with cross-functional teams including construction, visual merchandising, operations, and purchasing
- Manage and coordinate external consultants and vendors to ensure timely delivery of design assets
- Support multiple projects simultaneously across different stages of the design lifecycle
- Identify and resolve issues that may impact timeline, budget, or design integrity
- Stay informed on retail design trends, materials, and customer experience best practices
What You Bring
- Experience designing physical retail environments (store planning, layouts, fixtures, customer flow)
- Strong skills in 2D drafting and 3D modeling/rendering
- Ability to create, read, and review technical drawings and construction documentation
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills to convey design ideas clearly
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across teams and stakeholders
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (or equivalent drafting tools)
- Experience with SketchUp or similar 3D modeling software
- Familiarity with drawing review tools (e.g., Bluebeam or similar)
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) or similar tools
- Working knowledge of standard presentation and productivity tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field
- Experience working within multi-location or high-volume retail environments
- Exposure to store rollout programs, prototypes, or scalable design systems
- Familiarity with materials, fixtures, and millwork detailing
