| Primary Purpose of Position |
The Student Employment Coordinator administers and continuously improves the student employment program for Campus Dining by coordinating recruitment, hiring, onboarding, personnel administration and employment compliance for approximately 500 student employees annually. The position serves as the primary resource for Campus Dining's student employment operations and works collaboratively with Campus Dining management, the Payroll Office, and the Office of Student Employment to ensure efficient, compliant, and student-centered employment practices. |

Student Employment Program Administration
- Administers the student employment program for Campus Dining, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and compliance of student employees.
- Provides guidance and consultation to supervisors and student employees regarding student employment policies and procedures.
- Serves as a resource for student employment initiatives and provides consultation and support to Campus Dining management.
Recruitment and Hiring
- Coordinates student recruitment activities, including job postings and outreach initiatives, and attends student job fairs to attract qualified student employees.
- Develops and maintains student position descriptions and employment postings that align with university standards, career readiness competencies, and applicable employment requirements.
- Ensures all required hiring documentation, employment eligibility verification, and work authorization requirements are completed prior to the employee's start date.
Personnel and Payroll Administration
- Maintains accurate personnel, payroll, and employment records using university enterprise systems and related databases.
- Processes employment transactions, including new hires, position changes, pay rate adjustments, transfers, and separations, in accordance with university policies and payroll deadlines.
- Assists supervisors in resolving payroll discrepancies, employment record issues, and timekeeping concerns.
Compliance and Records Management
- Maintains confidential personnel information and employment records in accordance with records retention, privacy, and information security requirements.
- Monitors employment eligibility and work authorization requirements.
- Ensures compliance with university policies and applicable federal, state, and institutional regulations governing student employment, payroll, and personnel administration.
Training and Customer Support
- Develops and delivers training and guidance for supervisors and student employees regarding hiring procedures, payroll processes, timekeeping, and employment policies.
- Creates and maintains training materials, online learning resources, standard operating procedures, and user documentation to support consistent program administration.
- Provides responsive, customer-focused service while assisting students, supervisors, and campus partners with employment-related questions and issues.
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Develops, maintains, and analyzes reports, dashboards, and data to support workforce planning, operational decision-making, compliance monitoring, and program assessment.
- Maintains employment metrics and other program data to evaluate operational effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Reviews existing processes and recommends enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, customer service, and the overall student employment experience.
Collaboration and Program Support
- Collaborates with Campus Dining management, Payroll, and the Office of Student Employment to coordinate student employment activities and resolve operational issues.
- Participates in departmental and university committees, meetings, and special projects related to student employment.
- Performs other duties as assigned in support of departmental and university operational needs.

- Knowledge of student employment policies, university policies, and applicable federal and state employment regulations affecting student employees.
- Knowledge of payroll, timekeeping, and student employment software, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and system enhancements.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately process personnel, payroll, and employment information with close attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet critical deadlines, and adapt to changing operational needs throughout the year.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive personnel and student information.
- Ability to establish collaborative working relationships with Campus Dining departments, the University Payroll office, and the Office of Student Employment to ensure efficient student employment processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace applications including Excel/Sheets for tracking, reporting, and data analysis.
- Experience using enterprise systems such as Banner, TimeClock Plus, When-to-Work, or similar systems preferred.
- Ability to learn new software, procedures, and university processes quickly while adapting to changing business needs and regulatory requirements.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience coordinating or administering student employment, personnel, payroll, human resources, or workforce programs in a higher education environment.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying employment policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Experience developing training materials, conducting presentations, or facilitating employee onboarding and supervisor training.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and reporting or data analysis tools.
