Position Details:

As part of the Psychopharmacology team, you will report to Medical Director, New York. You will support physicians in delivering high-quality, team-based care. This includes assisting with diagnostic evaluations, collecting clinical data (including vital signs and standardized measurements), supporting medication management under physician supervision, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation. You will play a critical role in care coordination, patient flow, and enhancing clinical efficiency across the practice. This is an exempt, full-time, hybrid (this position requires a minimum of four (4) days per week in the office, on a schedule determined by your supervisor in our NYC headquarters office or other relevant location. The in-office requirement and schedule are subject to change based on the needs of the program and the organization.

You Will:

  • Support physicians in conducting evaluations by gathering patient histories and relevant clinical information, including obtaining collateral information from schools/teachers and any outside providers.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and other clinical measurements, including height, weight, BMI, and standardized rating scales.
  • Assist with medication management under physician supervision, including documenting patient response, side effects, and adherence.
  • Prepare and review patient charts prior to visits, ensuring completeness.
  • Document clinical encounters accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record.
  • Coordinate care and provide education about treatment plans with clinical team members, including psychiatrists, other physicians, psychologists, social workers, behavioral health technicians, school staff, and staff associates as appropriate.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans and medications, as directed by the supervising physician.
  • Assist with prescription workflows, refill requests, and follow-up communication in collaboration with supervising psychiatrists.
  • Scope of practice includes delegated clinical responsibilities in accordance with New York State regulations and organizational policies.
  • Maintain compliance with all clinical, regulatory, and documentation standards.* Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as needed.

You Have:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in New York State.
  • Current NCCPA certification (or eligibility).
  • Experience in pediatrics, psychiatry, or behavioral health preferred.
  • Familiarity with psychopharmacology and working with children and adolescents preferred.
  • Must work under a licensed supervising physician in accordance with New York State regulations.

Pay Range

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
