Main Duties & Responsibilities

SUMMARY

This occupation requires the set up and operation of various precision
sheet metal equipment. To fabricate sheet metal assemblies, detail assemblies
and parts of light gauge material. The
types of material include: all grade aluminum, stainless steel, cold roll steel
(Approximately .010 to .250 thick). This occupation requires moderate physical
exertion including lifting, bending and considerable time standing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Able to perform setups and operate various sheet metal related
    equipment.

  • Able to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Able to run a job from start to finish and be responsible for own
    first article.

  • Able to work in development of first run parts and assemblies.

  • Knowledge of math and trigonometry.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.

  • Able to use precision tools and hand tools.

This role is required to be on-site 4 days at the El Cajon, CA location.


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in precision sheet metal.

  • Must be able to fabricate parts from sheet metal with experience in all types of material and tooling.

  • Shear, CNC Turret Punch Press, Punch Press, Unipunch, Press Brake, Spotwelder, Power Notcher.

  • Fabricate parts to dimensional tolerances as required by engineering drawings.

  • Responsible for checking all operations from material gauge and type through shearing, punching, or forming.

  • Work independently and with others to develop guidelines for the production of sheet metal assemblies.

  • Figure shear size, and flat pattern layout using height gauges and other precision instruments from engineering drawings.

  • Be willing to work at assigned jobs in or outside the sheet metal department.

Compensation

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $30-33.

Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
