About the Job

Job Summary
The College of Biological Sciences seeks a content specialist with excellent visual and written communication skills and experience to capture photos and video that helps tell the story of our world-class research and innovative biology education on an as-needed basis.

The content specialist will:

  • Take photos of faculty, students and staff in a variety of settings (lab, field sites, offices) for use in digital and print publications.
  • Shoot video at locations across the College of Biological Sciences for use on social media channels, our website and elsewhere.
  • Write stories and feature content about research happening in CBS and members of our collegiate community.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Communications, Journalism, Biological Sciences, or a related field plus 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working with the College of Biological Sciences and other units within the University of Minnesota.
  • Experience taking photos and video for use in digital and print publications.
  • Experience writing science-focused articles and content.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $50.00/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
