The Technician in training

• Participates in on-the-job training programs designed to develop essential skills and knowledge required for certification. Includes classroom and hands on training.

• Study and master course materials.

• Shadow experienced staff, observing and assisting with activities under supervision.

• May, under direct supervision of licensed and/or certified staff, learn and practice proper techniques and procedures for providing care to patients.

• Communicates effectively with internal and external individuals using a variety of communication tools.

• Learns proper documentation practices for patient care and other required records, utilizing electronic systems.

• Follows all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.

• Commits to learning and professional development, actively seeking feedback and opportunities for growth.

• Enter data in electronic systems and completes basic forms as needed.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: depends on department

Life Support: depends on department

Other Minimum Qualifications: Must meet requirements for a criminal history background check before the date of hire and maintain this standard for the duration of employment. Proficient in computer and keyboard skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to work efficiently, manage time wisely, and follow policy and procedures with minimal supervision. Must have good interpersonal, communication, and listening skills. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for the position. Subject to random drug/alcohol testing.
