Job Summary

This weekend and holiday coverage position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to a diverse patient population. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assess nutritional needs, develop individualized care plans, provide nutrition education, and support positive patient outcomes.

Essential Functions
-Assess patients' nutritional status using physician orders, clinical data, interdisciplinary care plans, and evidence-based practice to develop individualized nutrition care plans.
-Provide medical nutrition therapy, monitor patient progress, and modify nutrition interventions as needed to support optimal outcomes.
-Document nutrition assessments, recommendations, care plans, follow-up evaluations, discharge planning, and other nutrition-related activities in the electronic medical record.
-Educate patients and their families on therapeutic diets, nutrition goals, and healthy lifestyle strategies through individualized counseling and educational resources.
-Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver coordinated, patient-centered nutrition care.
-Partner with food service teams to ensure patients receive appropriate meals, supplements, and nutrition support while promoting adherence to prescribed diets.
-Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all organizational policies and standards.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field required.
Experience in lieu of degree accepted? No Licenses & Certifications
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) preferred.
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (state licensure) preferred.
  • Heartsaver CPR AED certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
Experience
  • Completion of an accredited dietetic internship required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to educate patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess patient needs and develop appropriate nutrition interventions.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Ability to engage, educate, and motivate patients across diverse age groups and backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a clinical setting.
