Accountant - Full Time

Pay Range: $38.65 - $43.00

Summary:

The Accountant performs general accounting functions in support of the monthly close, including preparation of journal entries, account and bank reconciliations, and support for treasury and cash management activities. This role maintains accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support timely and accurate financial reporting.

Essential Functions:

The duties listed below are considered essential to the successful performance of this position, as defined by Front Porch. Additional responsibilities may be assigned in the future and may also be regarded as necessary for the role.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and perform budget-to-actual variance analysis
  • Prepare journal entries, allocations, recurring amortization and repayment schedules and maintain the general ledger in support of the month-end close in accordance with GAAP.
  • Work with team members, departments, and communities to ensure a timely and accurate month-end and year-end close.
  • Reconcile monthly bank investment general ledger and intercompany accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Research account discrepancies and record adjustments through journal entries or other appropriate processes.
  • Review and monitor daily cash and banking activity to support treasury operations
  • Process treasury-related transactions, including wire transfers, Positive Pay, and online banking transactions in accordance with established controls.
  • Process and record deposits, non-resident payments, and entrance fee deposits and refunds
  • Monitor cash flow and alert management to projected shortfalls that may affect operations
  • Support vendor setup activities in the ERP system, including required IRS and OIG verifications and maintain accurate vendor records.
  • Assist with demonstration of the company's commercial credit card program, including training new cardholders and reviewing transactions for proper coding and policy compliance.
  • Assist with annual and external audits by preparing supporting documentation and reconciliations.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Experience or Equivalent Qualifications

Essential - Bachelor's Degree -Accounting or Finance or related field. 3 years' experience in accounting, including experience supporting general ledger activities account reconciliation and month-end close processes

Equivalent Experience: Associate Degree plus 3 years of related work experience or five years of related work experience
