Overview
LMI is looking for an accomplished Digital Engineering SME specializing in system architecture strategy, requirements elicitation, and federal DE policy execution to support our Army clients. This candidate will be skilled in building collaborative, interoperable digital environments and accelerating mission-critical platform modernization. This position requires a Secret clearance. Location: Onsite if within 40 miles from Aberdeen MD or Crystal City VA; Remote if more than 40 miles from Aberdeen MD or Crystal City VA LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Responsibilities
Research DE ecosystem technologies and methodologies to identify means for effective implementation of federal DE guidance and policies
- Identify opportunities for innovating and pairing complimentary DE technologies in support of data interoperability and user productivity across the product lifecycle
- Identify, design, test, develop, and deliver innovative DE ecosystem use case concepts to improve customer productivity and data interoperability across the product lifecycle
- Work in partnership with customers and stakeholders to develop strategic roadmaps for innovative DE technologies
- Collaborate with and lead team of domain experts, stakeholders, and systems engineers to develop and execute tactical plans for strategy implementation
- Develop enterprise and systems architecture models using model based engineering methodologies, languages, and tools, to accurately document and maintain system authoritative source of truth
- Collaborate with team of domain subject matter experts, system engineers, other partners, and stakeholders to develop models of modular complex sensor data integration systems using systems modeling languages such as SysML and UAF
- Assess engineering artifacts and develop models of system architecture using Digital Engineering and MBSE methodologies and tools such as Cameo
- Apply Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles within MBSE frameworks to ensure system interoperability, maintainability, and seamless technology insertion.
- Establish traceability between system requirements and architecture models by integrating MBSE environments with requirements management platforms like IBM DOORS.
- Provide input to UX/UI designers and front-end application developers on how to effectively deliver model outcomes to users
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience with BS in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related technical discipline
- Secret clearance required.
- Comfortable with all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle
- Must be self-directed, detail oriented, and able to coordinate and work with a dynamic team
- Able to communicate effectively and confidently with end users, technologists, team members, and executive management
- Process driven analysis skills and a background in various requirements elicitation methods
- Demonstrated experience with (at least some of the following):
- Federal / DoD DE policies and ecosystems
- MBSE approaches and methodologies
- MBSE tools such as Magic Draw, Cameo, DOORS, etc
- Object-oriented programming languages such as SysML, UPDM, UAF, Python, Java, C++, etc
- Agile Development methods
- System architecture development incorporating Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)
Desired Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience with MS in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related technical discipline
- Knowledge of technologies that use deep learning and neural networks to create content or perform tasks such as AI, machine learning, LLMs, GenAI, etc
- Knowledge of the Army software development process and technologies
- Comfortable using CI/CD processes and Git
- OCSMP Level 1 and/or 2 certification(s)
The target salary range for this position goes up to $200,000. The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation.
