Department: WCAS Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Northwestern University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical Psychology, a Clinical Science-oriented program. We are seeking applicants with a focus on psychopathology and/or psychotherapy and are particularly interested in research programs with focus around adolescent and young adult developmental periods; although, applicants with varied research interests across the lifespan are strongly encouraged to apply.

The role involves primarily research accompanied by teaching and service expectations. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2027. Candidates must have a PhD or similar terminal degree by the time of appointment. The position is full time, and progress will be evaluated through a reappointment process occurring mid-way along the tenure clock.

Interested candidates should submit electronically a curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests, and copies of recent publications. Three letters of recommendation will be requested prior to on-campus interviews and are not required at the time of application.

Salary
The expected base pay range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000.

This base pay range is for a nine-month academic appointment, does not include summer salary, and is subject to negotiation.

Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
