Job Summary:

We currently have an exciting Permanent (Direct Hire) opportunity in Leola, PA for a Maintenance Manager with experience leading capital projects from planning through commissioning and 7+ years of progressive maintenance and engineering experience in a fabrication manufacturing environment. Must also have experience with automation controls and PLCs. Engineering degree is required.



Job Description:

+ Leadership & Management



  • Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance supervisors, reliability engineers, manufacturing engineers, controls technicians, maintenance planners, maintenance technicians, facilities personnel, and contractors.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
  • Establish department goals, KPIs, budgets, staffing plans, and performance expectations aligned with business objectives.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and retain high-performing technical talent.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and engineering review meetings.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, and Executive Leadership to achieve plant objectives.
  • Manage departmental operating and capital budgets while driving cost reduction initiatives.
  • Develop long-term maintenance strategies that support business growth and operational excellence.
  • Lead emergency response, critical equipment recovery, and business continuity efforts.
  • Manage relationships with OEMs, contractors, suppliers, and engineering consultants.



+ Reliability Engineering



  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs.
  • Establish predictive and preventive maintenance strategies using engineering analysis and equipment performance data.
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA, and corrective action investigations.
  • Improve equipment uptime, MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and overall asset reliability.
  • Analyze equipment failures and implement permanent engineering solutions.
  • Develop long-term asset lifecycle management strategies.



+ Mechanical Engineering



  • Apply mechanical engineering principles to manufacturing equipment, facility infrastructure, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical power transmission systems.
  • Evaluate machinery performance and implement engineering improvements.
  • Lead equipment upgrades, retrofits, modifications, and replacement projects.
  • Improve equipment safety, maintainability, reliability, and operational performance.
  • Support process optimization and equipment design improvements.



+ Manufacturing Engineering



  • Improve manufacturing processes through engineering analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze production bottlenecks and implement engineering solutions to increase throughput.
  • Support new product introductions and manufacturing process development.
  • Develop engineering standards, equipment specifications, and best practices.
  • Lead productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency improvement projects.



+ Automation & Controls Engineering



  • Support automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, sensors, VFDs, servo systems, and control systems.
  • Improve automated equipment performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with controls engineers, equipment suppliers, and system integrators.
  • Support troubleshooting and optimization of automated manufacturing systems.
  • Maintain familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff, Trio, or similar control platforms.



+ Capital Projects



  • Lead engineering activities related to equipment commissioning, startup, qualification, validation, and optimization.
  • Develop technical specifications for capital equipment purchases.
  • Manage equipment installations, facility upgrades, and expansion projects.
  • Coordinate equipment acceptance testing and performance verification.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.



+ Data Analytics & Continuous Improvement



  • Utilize maintenance, production, and reliability data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and monitor engineering KPIs and performance dashboards.
  • Drive downtime reduction and equipment performance improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and Reliability Engineering methodologies.
  • Standardize maintenance processes and improve maintenance planning and scheduling.



+ Safety & Regulatory Compliance



  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct engineering risk assessments and machine safety evaluations.
  • Lead safety improvement projects and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Promote a zero-incident safety culture throughout the organization.



Required



  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Must have experience leading capital projects from planning through commissioning.
  • 7+ years of progressive maintenance and engineering experience in a fabrication manufacturing environment.
  • 3-5+ years of leadership experience managing maintenance, engineering, or reliability teams.
  • Experience managing team of at least 5-7 people.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with automation controls and PLCs, HMIs, industrial networking, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial controls (Rockwell, Siemens).
  • Experience using CMMS systems (Computerized Maintenance Management System) such as Fiix, Maximo, SAP PM, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, and team development abilities.
