In this critical contract role, you will be instrumental in driving the automation of document intake and processing, directly influencing how the organization leverages cutting-edge technologies to enhance operational efficiency and deliver superior client experiences. Your analytical prowess and ability to translate complex business needs into actionable requirements will have a profound impact on high-visibility platforms and capabilities, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in intelligent document processing.

This role is open to candidates in Omaha, Nebraska or Westlake, TX. This role requires 4 days onsite and one day remote each week.

About the Opportunity

As a Contractor Business Analyst, you will collaborate closely with Product Managers and Product Owners to transform business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories. This role is at the forefront of innovation, supporting initiatives that are revolutionizing how documents are handled, from intake to downstream processing. You will be a key player in implementing advanced technologies for document processing within the operational ecosystem, contributing to projects that demand analytical rigor, curiosity, and a talent for structuring ambiguous problems into precise solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Define requirements for the end-to-end enrichment and automation of document processing, encompassing intake, classification, extraction, interpretation, and decisioning capabilities.
  • Document requirements for optical character recognition data extraction and machine learning models, ensuring the creation of accurate, scalable data payloads from diverse document types.
  • Support the evolution of document workflows through advanced AI capabilities, helping to define use cases, requirements, activation strategies, and success criteria.
  • Specify requirements for structuring and generating data payloads extracted from documents, enabling reliable consumption by downstream systems and workflows.
  • Translate complex, cross-functional business requirements (spanning document intake, data extraction, and downstream automation) into clear, developer-ready user stories.
  • Partner with Product Managers/Product Owners and multi-functional scrum teams, actively engaging in scrum ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews, and driving story refinement.
  • Document requirements for data payloads, middleware, and back-end integrations that feed user interface data display and downstream automation.
  • Coordinate the development, testing, and implementation of solutions with technology partners, and provide post-deployment support by identifying issues and driving their resolution.
  • Act as a liaison between business and technology teams, partnering with business users to drive transformational change to existing processes.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a proven track record of delivering business process requirements, use cases, and user stories in a Technology or Operations environment.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Agile methodology, including developing epics, user stories, supplementary requirements, and business rules.
  • Proficiency in using JIRA and Confluence, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong ability to recognize trends and patterns, approaching problem-solving with curiosity and a desire to understand root causes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain product features and requirements to both business and technical audiences.
  • Good interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical or business-related field.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Exposure to AI, generative AI, intelligent document processing, optical character recognition, machine learning tools, or similar automation technologies.
  • Curiosity about APIs and microservices architecture, coupled with enthusiasm for supporting large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • A background in financial services.
