Meter Collector - Lincoln, NE

Position Details

Pay Rate: $17.50/hour

Location: Downtown Lincoln, NE

Schedule: M-F 7am - 330pm

Join LAZ Parking as a Meter Collection Associate and help keep Downtown Lincoln's parking operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on, active role for someone who enjoys working independently outdoors, staying on the move, and taking pride in accurate, dependable work.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Collect and securely transport funds from assigned parking meters throughout Downtown Lincoln.
  
• 
  Follow established cash-handling, safety, and security procedures while accurately documenting collections.
  
• 
  Perform light maintenance and basic troubleshooting on parking meters, such as clearing minor issues, checking functionality, and reporting equipment concerns.
  
• 
  Conduct routine visual inspections of meters and surrounding areas to identify damage, vandalism, or maintenance needs.
  
• 
  Operate a company vehicle safely while traveling between assigned collection routes.
  
• 
  Maintain clear and accurate records of meter collections, maintenance activity, and any issues identified during the shift.
  
• 
  Communicate promptly with leadership regarding route concerns, equipment problems, or safety issues.
  
• 
  Represent LAZ Parking professionally while working in a public, customer-facing downtown environment.
  
• 
  Support the team with other parking operations duties as needed.
  

Requirements

• 
  Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  
• 
  Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions.
  
• 
  Ability to stand and walk for more than six hours during a shift.
  
• 
  Ability to safely lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
  
• 
  Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to handle money responsibly.
  
• 
  Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
  
• 
  Comfortable following procedures, meeting deadlines, and maintaining a high level of integrity.
