We are seeking an Accounting & Financial Analyst to support monthly accounting, financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives. This role will work closely with the Controller and CFO while partnering with department leaders to provide meaningful financial insights and support sound business decisions.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, analytical mindset, advanced Excel skills, and an interest in leveraging technology and AI to improve accounting and financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, accruals, fixed assets, and other assigned accounts.
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries related to account reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Perform monthly variance analysis of income statement and balance sheet accounts, identify trends, and provide recommendations to management.
- Take ownership of month-end reporting, including preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial results.
- Analyze department expenses and budgets and present key findings and variances to department leaders.
- Assist the Controller and CFO with monthly financial statements, bank reporting, and month-over-month and year-over-year variance explanations.
- Support year-end audit activities, including preparing schedules, gathering AP and AR third-party documentation, and completing requested financial analysis.
- Serve as a business partner to other departments, providing financial guidance and helping leaders make informed business decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting and financial processes through automation, technology, and enhanced reporting.
- Explore and evaluate AI tools and emerging technologies that can improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity across accounting and financial processes.
- Assist in implementing AI-driven solutions for areas such as account reconciliations, deposit postings, financial analysis, reporting, and other accounting workflows.
- Partner with accounting and management teams to evaluate new ERP capabilities and identify opportunities to streamline processes.
- Maintain appropriate controls and ensure financial information is accurate, reliable, and compliant with GAAP.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of relevant accounting and/or financial analysis experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA
- CPA
- Experience working with ERP implementations or enhancements.
- Experience using technology or automation to improve accounting processes.
- Interest in emerging AI tools and their practical application within accounting and finance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
- Strong accounting and financial analysis skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, and PivotTables.
- Strong ERP and accounting systems knowledge.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and provide meaningful recommendations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present financial information clearly to both accounting and non-financial leaders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Curious and forward-thinking approach to technology, process improvement, and AI.
