The Role:

As the Director, Administrative Operations , you will serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, working across departments to operationalize strategic priorities, enhance organizational culture, strengthen community relationships, and elevate executive communications. As a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive, executive leadership team, physicians, and community stakeholders, you will help advance the Northern CA Service Area's mission while fostering alignment with Providence's strategic goals and values. As a operational partner and triage point to the Chief Executive for key issues, data, reports, and projects, the role requires a proactive, data-fluent, healthcare-savvy strategic partner.

This role combines strategic leadership, operational execution, communications excellence, and relationship management to ensure organizational priorities are effectively communicated, coordinated, and achieved.

What You'll Do:



  • Drive Organizational Culture and Engagement: Champion consistent and intentional messaging that advances organizational culture, supports caregiver engagement, and strengthens alignment with mission, values, and strategic priorities across the Service Area.
  • Lead Strategic Communications: Partner with executive leadership and shared services communications teams to develop impactful messaging, presentations, speeches, reports, and communication strategies that effectively engage internal and external audiences.
  • Strengthen Community and Stakeholder Relations: Develop and oversee strategic community and corporate relations initiatives that enhance organizational visibility, build trusted partnerships, and support key ministry objectives within the communities served.
  • Serve as a Trusted Executive Advisor: Provide strategic guidance and operational support to the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team, preparing briefings, board materials, presentations, reports, and executive communications that advance organizational goals.
  • Advance High-Priority Strategic Initiatives: Lead and coordinate critical projects by bringing together key stakeholders, facilitating collaboration, ensuring alignment with executive priorities, and driving successful execution of organizational initiatives.
  • Coordinate Executive Operations: Manage ministry-level operational reviews, leadership projects, and cross-functional initiatives while providing oversight and accountability for project progress, outcomes, and executive visibility.
  • Elevate Organizational Storytelling: Develop compelling content and narratives that communicate organizational achievements, priorities, and impact while ensuring messaging remains consistent with Providence's brand, culture, and strategic direction.
  • Build Collaborative Partnerships: Foster strong relationships with physicians, operational leaders, caregivers, community organizations, boards, councils, and external stakeholders to advance organizational effectiveness and community engagement.
  • Support Strategic Decision-Making: Gather and analyze information, conduct research, synthesize complex topics, and provide actionable insights that support executive leadership in making informed business decisions.


What You'll Bring:

Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Social Science, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree in a related discipline preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive professional experience in communications, operations, healthcare administration, public affairs, or related leadership roles.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience within healthcare or a related industry.


Communications & Executive Presence



  • Exceptional business writing, storytelling, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience developing and executing strategic communication plans that align diverse audiences around organizational goals.
  • Ability to craft compelling messages that inspire engagement, trust, and action.

The full pay range is listed in accordance with applicable law. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, organizational compensation alignment, and the approved hiring department budget for the position. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation and benefits.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
