At SAF-HOLLAND, Test Engineers put their mechanical skills, research, creativity, collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving abilities to work designing test plans and test equipment to validate our products to the highest quality standards, helping bring innovative and safe commercial vehicle technologies to market. The Test Engineer plays a key role in the development, validation, and continuous improvement of commercial vehicle systems and components. This position is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating product validation activities, including laboratory, field, durability, performance, environmental, and benchmark testing. The role develops and maintains Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R), test methods, procedures, specifications, instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and test equipment required to support product development and validation. The role also includes developing practical mechanical solutions for testing needs, such as test fixtures, fabricated components, adapters, brackets, tooling, equipment layouts, and custom lab setups used to support safe, repeatable, and effective product validation. The Test Engineer analyzes test and field data, investigates product failures, performs root cause analysis, and provides technical recommendations to improve product performance, reliability, durability, and safety. This position also supports product development, change management, and launch activities by ensuring products meet customer, regulatory, quality, and performance requirements. The Test Engineer collaborates closely with product engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, customers, technicians, and laboratory personnel to deliver effective validation solutions, advance testing capabilities through innovation and automation, and drive continuous improvement in laboratory operations and testing processes.
