Senior Accounting Analyst - JLL Location: 1-2 days a week in office in Charlotte, NC What this job involves:

Join JLL's Accounting team as a Senior Accounting Analyst where you'll serve as a critical partner in our financial operations. This role sits at the intersection of cash management, financial reporting, and month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across our accounting processes. You'll be responsible for managing cash operations, performing comprehensive reconciliations, processing journal entries, and delivering financial reports that drive decision-making for both internal leadership and external clients. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to develop deep expertise in commercial real estate accounting while working alongside a collaborative team committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Execute cash receipt and payment operations, monitoring daily cash flow activities and ensuring accurate, timely processing of all financial transactions while maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Perform comprehensive account reconciliations including bank reconciliations, cash logs, and balance sheet reconciliations for monthly accounting packages, identifying and resolving discrepancies with supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and post journal entries covering accruals, prepaids, reclassifications, and other adjustments, ensuring proper documentation and approval workflows while supporting efficient month-end close processes.
  • Generate accurate financial reports for internal management review and external client deliverables, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines across all stakeholder groups.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ad hoc reporting requests, process improvements, and special projects that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
  • Maintain organized documentation for all reconciliation activities, journal entries, and financial reports to support audit requirements and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience with demonstrated proficiency in account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, and data analysis capabilities essential for financial modeling and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all work products.
  • Team-oriented mindset with flexibility and adaptability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple concurrent responsibilities effectively.
  • Professional demeanor when interfacing with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Commercial real estate industry experience with understanding of property accounting, lease administration, or real estate financial operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle or JD Edwards ERP systems, including navigation, reporting capabilities, and transaction processing workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting month-end close processes and preparing comprehensive accounting packages for management review.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and their application in financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with cash management systems, automated reconciliation tools, or other financial technology platforms that enhance accounting efficiency.
  • Experience preparing client-facing deliverables and presenting financial information to non-financial audiences in clear, accessible formats.
  • Commitment to professional development through continuing education, industry certifications, or participation in accounting professional organizations.
